You're Invited...

Prime Restaurant is planning a big holiday party, and you're on the guest list.

invites the Huntington community to its holiday tree lighting on Huntington Harbor. The event will also raise awareness and funds for the Clark Gillies Children's Emergency Care Center at Huntington Hospital, including a donation from the Bohlsen Family Foundation.

"There is no better time to gather with one's neighbors or to recognize our children in need than during this season of goodwill. On behalf of the Bohlsen family and the team at Prime, we invite those who live and work in our community to this first Tree Lighting on Huntington Harbor, in what we hope will become a tradition," said Prime Restaurant co-owner Michael Bohlsen.

There are a lot of surprises planned to get everyone in the holiday spirit. A winter wonderland of lights, festive caroling with Santa and Mrs. Claus, warming hot chocolate and seasonal cookies will all be shared against the scenic backdrop of Huntington Harbor.

The highlight of the evening will be the illumination of a 30-foot balsam fir adorned with 25,000 white lights by guest of honor Kevin Lawlor, Huntington Hospital's president and chief executive officer. Huntington Supervisor Frank Petrone will join him on the platform.

Lawlor also represents the evening's charity of honor.  The Clark Gillies Children's Emergency Care Center at Huntington Hospital is named after retired New York Islander Clark Gillies, whose foundation contributed to its establishment. The state-of-the-art center is reliant on the community's generosity for its continued progress

Adds Bohlsen, "We hope to forge a long-term relationship with Huntington Hospital and particularly the children's unit. Of course, Prime is a neighbor and the Bohlsen Family Foundation has a special interest in community healthcare. Yet the hospital holds another important place in our family's life. It is the place of both my and my brother Kurt's birth."
