5 Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 12

1 - Young adults can play Wii games in a tournament at the South Huntington Public Library tonight.  Tonight's game: Samba de Amigo. Refreshments and snacks will be served. For those in 6th grade and up only, from 7 to 8 p.m.

2 - Don't miss the Jamie Joseph Trunk Show at. From 10 am today and all day tomorrow, Jamie's spectacular jewelry will be featured and sold, including many one-of-a-kind pieces. Jamie has an artisan's aesthetic and her collections are renowned for meticulous craftsmanship, signature stone cutting techniques and an abundance of color.

3 - Journey Toward Wholeness invites you to a Multicultural Potluck Celebration tonight from 6:30-9:30 pm at the . Share the culinary wonders of your heritage through food. Bring appetizers, entrees, desserts, etc. Share you music, dance and talents that showcase your heritage. 4 - On Saturday, the South Huntington PTA Council and the school district are sponsoring an Anti-Bullying Community Workshop from 9 am-noon at Walt Whitman High School. The event is open to all Long Island residents. Danielle Campbell, News12 anchor, will be the keynote speaker. There will also be speakers on internet safety, hazing, teaching kids empathy and more, with discussion and demonstrations of bullying behaviors and role-playing games on how to react. Breakfast will be served and there will be door prizes. South Huntington students will receive community service credit when they attend with a parent.

5 - Also on Saturday, Marketing Your Own Business, SCORE will offer a free workshop and counseling to help small businesses develop their marketing plan from 9:30 am - noon. SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping small businesses start, grow and succeed.
