It will certainly feel like fall this weekend with temperatures barely topping 70, but there's no rain in the forecast and there's plenty going on around town for those looking to get out of the house.

Boxing Returns to Paramount

Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing will bring Huntington's Chris Algieri back to the Paramount Saturday for a program that will also broadcast the Mayweather/Canelo world title clash on the big screen. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Find tickets here

Mini-Retreat, A Morning of Healing

Come for an introduction to the practice of Medicine Buddha and a mini retreat at Dipamkara Meditation Center! From Medicine Buddha we can learn about the deepest causes of disease. The “three poisons” of attachment, aversion & ignorance function continually to distort and disturb our body and mind at many levels, both visibly and invisibly. If we are working to dissolve these three poisons, then we are on a path to healing at the deepest level.

Movie Afternoon at Elwood Library

For Movie Fridays, the Elwood Library presents: A Place Beyond the Pines (R, 140 minutes), starting at 1 p.m. A motorcycle stunt driver turns to robbing banks as a way to provide for his lover and their newborn child. Bring your own refreshments, sit back, relax and have a great afternoon.

Cabaret

Campari Ristorante at 225 Main St. will host a gallery event Friday featuring Erich Preis's oil pastels series 'Cabaret'. Hot in the Kitchen Cabaret Dancers will perform at 8 p.m.

Farmers Market

Get farm fresh goods at the Northport Farmers Market every Saturday (except for Sept. 21) through November 23, 2013, rain or shine from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Cow Harbor parking lot at the foot of Main Street, Northport.

Billie Holiday Tribute

Billie Holiday was, and still is, one of the most influential jazz vocalists and songwriters of all time. Even today, her albums still appear on top 200 Billboard charts. Her soulful singing style and ability to communicate through song, won the hearts of many listeners young and old. Tierney Ryan will be singing such songs as “Willow Weep for Me,” “Lady Sings the Blues,” “Fine and Mellow” and many more at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $20 and can be bought here
