Family Service League will be distributing backpacks Wednesday to needy students.
The league said that, according to the National Retail Federation, the cost of new school supplies is $95 per child, not counting new clothes or shoes.
The backpacks will be loaded with such back-to-school supplies as pens, pencils, notebooks.

The distribution is set for 2 to 5 p.m. at league headquarters at 790 Park Ave., Huntington.
