Teams Turn Out for Huntington Tournament

Two days of soccer draws competitors from around the region.

More than 270 teams from around the tristate area and beyond played the first rounds of the Peter Renzulli Labor Day Tournament Saturday in Huntington.

The tournament was a full day for many; some families reported arriving as early at 7 a.m. and were still on the field, waiting for one youngster or another, at 5 p.m. With warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine, many kept the heat at bay by setting up under tents or umbrellas.

Though clouds are expected, families will be out on the sidelines again Sunday, as games continue across several fields around Huntington.
