The 5K run/walk on April 11 is an annual tribute to Marcie Mazzola, a 1999 Commack High School graduate whose life was cut tragically short by a car accident in 2002. Be among the hundreds of runners who will fill the streets of Huntington for this wonderful event. Proceeds will provide Huntington YMCA summer camp scholarships to underprivileged children.
The event begins with a non-competitive fun run for children 10 & under at 8 am. The 5K Run/Walk kicks off at 8:30 am on Park Ave., just south of Main Street. To register online and learn about entry fees, go to www.marciemazzolafoundation.org, and click on the logo that will direct you to www.active.com. Information is also provided about early check-in and check-in on race day.
Runners and walkers can also register on race day from 6:45 to 8:15 am at the Huntington YMCA, located at 60 Main Street, at a slightly higher fee.
