New Ventures at Huntington Biz Incubator

It's been a busy month for Biz Inc, the business incubator operated by the Town of Huntington.

Members of the incubator are seeing success in book publishing, new business launches and more.

Huntington resident Steven Zolga, a retired New York City police officer, is launching two new businesses at the incubator: Corporate Waste Solutions of LI, a solid waste consulting company; and Statewide Security & Investigation, which will work with law firms and insurance companies. Zolga can be reached at corporatewaste@gmail.com.

Meanwhile, life coach Kimberly Hawkins, who set up shop at the incubator six months ago, is marking publication of the book, “Sexy Secrets to  a Juicy Love Life:  Proven Tips Successful Single Women Use That Help them Avoid Frustration, Unhappiness and the Worry That They’ll Be Alone Forever.” Hawkins is one of 29 dating coaches, matchmakers, psychotherapists and personal coaches contributing to the book, which was published by CM Publisher. Hawkins will be participating in a June 2 book signing at Book Revue in Huntington, at 6:30 p.m.

A former investment banker, Hawkins changed careers after discovering her true passion while attending a Life Class in Toronto. After that, she began assisting corporations in the development and advancement of high-potential staff and emerging leaders. She received her life-coaching certification from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. She works with an innovative process that invites individuals to be aware of and accountable for their life experiences and teaches them how to share it as a key to business success. “I congratulate Kimberly Hawkins upon becoming a published author and welcome Steven Zolga as the latest entrepreneur to tap into the programs and services Biz Inc has to offer,” Huntington Supervisor Frank P. Petrone said. “I hope their success will highlight how Biz Inc helps people obtain the skills and experience to transform their ideas into successful businesses.”

Since opening six months ago, Biz Inc, located at 1268 New York Avenue, Huntington Station has hosted seminars on a range of topics of interest to small businesses and established a mentorship program to match fledgling business people with experienced professionals in a variety of fields.  In fact, in talking about her experience over the past six months, Hawkins has repeatedly mentioned the advice she had received from mentors Jon Ten Haagen, Angelo Ferraro and Jim O’Neil, three of the many people who graciously agreed to volunteer their time.
