Whitman Competes in Long Island Challenge

Wildcats battle Copiague in first round of TV quiz show.

A team of Whitman High School students competed recently in the Long Island Challenge competition.

Pitted against Copiague High School at Metropolis Studios in Manhattan, the Wildcats faired well, according to a release from Whitman.

The Whitman contest will be televised on MSG Varsity Jan. 9 at 6:30 p.m. on Channel 14. MSG has asked that results of the competition be withheld until after the show airs.

The Long Island Challenge is a televised quiz show designed to test students' knowledge of math, history, science, arts and literature.

Whitman members included Joe Babinski, James Campbell, Nicholas Scover, Alyssa Vallar and team captain Kimberly Shen.
