Should Schools Be Air Conditioned?

Some adults argue that hot classrooms are hurting student performance.

Summer vacation is almost here in most school districts, but increased temperatures aren't waiting. When the weather heated up last week, a test proctor was on Facebook describing the heat students faced while taking the SATs.

Coincidentally, a former teacher was writing in The New York Times about the unequal conditions students in un-air conditioned schools face at test time compared to those who work in cooled classrooms. In many schools, some classrooms windows cannot easily be opened.

What do you think? Should all classrooms be air conditioned? Or should kids just tough it out?
