School Board Candidates Speak Out

5 seeking spots on Huntington board talk issues at NAACP forum.

Several new faces talked about some old issues as candidates for the Huntington school board met Thursday in a forum sponsored by the Huntington chapter of the NAACP.

Four challengers and an incumbent, school board president Bill Dwyer, talked over housing issues, the closing of Jack Abrams school, housing density, the school budget and relationships with town government, all issues that have dogged the school board for the last several months.

Joining Dwyer on the stage at the were Jen Hebert, Jim Cahill, Susan Tully and Adam Spector. They are competing for two seats in the May 17 election, that held by Dwyer and that of Christine Bene, who chose not to run again this year.
