Sports Drinks and Water
There is a great deal of debate in the fitness community as to whether sports drinks or water are better for hydration and recovery during and after exercise. While it’s hard to zero in on an exact answer, some studies show that using both can be very beneficial for a variety of reasons. Some of these studies recommend sipping water regularly during prolonged workouts to help your body stay hydrated and keep cool, but then enjoying a sports drink after the workout to help the body receive the sodium and nutrients necessary to rebuild muscles quickly and effectively. So, next time you’re debating which beverage to grab before you hit the gym, try bringing both. Your body may thank you.
