Work to Cut LIRR Weekend Service
Some Port Jeff trains east of Hicksville will be eliminated as switches are replaced.
Service on the Port Jefferson line east of Hicksville will be cut back this weekend because of repair work.
The LIRR said that starting at 12:53 a.m. Saturday through Monday at 2:52 a.m., half hour service will be reduced to hourly trains between Hicksville and Huntington.
Some Port Jefferson branch trains will be canceled and others will be running on adjusted schedules. Expect up to 30 minutes additional travel time.

The LIRR said the delays are the result of work on switch replacements.
