Paramount Concerns: Petrone Meets With Theater Partners at Town Hall

Paramount officials acknowledge problem and agree to make changes after nasty incident Saturday, according to town official.

Huntington Town Supervisor met with Paramount Theater partners and other top officials at Town Hall Wednesday to discuss recent events at the theater which have heightened concern among local residents and business owners.

Nearly three days removed from an where six were arrested and numerous others treated for medical emergencies on or near the New York Avenue venue, partners were cooperative, according to Town Hall.

Town Information Officer A.J. Carter said Paramount representatives clearly understood that there was a problem Saturday night and that they would never book the same type of event again.

Those in attendence at Town Hall included Petrone, Suffolk Police Inspector Ed Brady, Suffolk Police Deputy Inspector Matthew Lewis, Huntington Director of Public Safety Dennis Ryan, Deputy Town Supervisor Pat DelCol, and Paramount Theater partners Brian Doyle and Dominick Catoggio.

"The supervisor is generally pleased and satisfied going forward," said Carter to Patch.

At the meeting, the Paramount partners agreed to work more closely with town officials and keep a "sharper eye" on the condition of theater patrons that attend shows, according to Carter.

Wednesday was Petrone's first day back at Town Hall since last month.

Paramount Theater representatives did not immediatley return a request for comment from Patch Wednesday.

The Celtic-American punk rock band The Dropkick Murphy's, with special guest Frank Turner, are scheduled to play a sold out show at Paramount Sunday on the same day as the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in the Village.
