New Communication System Launched at Town Hall

Huntington @ Your Service goes live.

A new citizen request management system is now operational at .

Huntington @ Your Service, made live March 1, will apparently make it easier for residents to get information from Town Hall and file requests for action both online and through smart phones, according to town officials.

Town officials released a video hosted by Supervisor Frank Petrone detailing how to use the system through the town’s website. Another, narrated by Councilman Mark Cuthbertson, explains smart phone app operations.

The new system will provide an opportunity for residents to more efficiently identify areas of concern to town departments, according to Petrone.

, Petrone told Patch that Connecticut-based QScend Technologies of Waterbury was awarded a two-year, $16,000 contract to implement the program.

Training sessions have been held during the past few weeks to help town employees practice with the system and work out any flaws.

Details of the system are available on the town website, Facebook and YouTube.

A CT-based company? Too bad there wasn't a company on LI - or anywhere in NY State for that matter - that could have done the job. Would've been nice to boost the economy here. But at least it's in the U.S. I suppose. It's slightly odd they introduce this only a month after Cuthbertson tried to silence the residents of Huntington by voting down a public hearing. I guess they'll pick and choose what they listen to.

Huntington Town Hall have been talking about modernizing the process for several years, but this will only be truly effective if there is a "log" or record process, in which others can see what the Town has been told, and can then look for solutions of those problems by the Town, or evidence that an issue has been stone-walled.

Been Around, you are right. I've notified the town several times recently on this site of theirs about the same graffiti and they have done nothing. If you try to contact the highway dept you get a pop up that say's they're not interested in the site and you need to call.
