Town Board Names Veterans' Committee

29 to assist service members with housing and accessibility problems.

The Town Board has named 29 people to a new Building Homes for Huntington Heroes Committee.

They are:

Councilman Mark Mayoka, Raymond Mascolo, Andre Pujol, Andrew McClure, Chad Gottlieb, Esther Lebron, Kim Levi, Doug Herrmann, Bob  Ehrler, Phil Tepe, Gina Angevine, Dolan Angevine, Philip Byler, Janet Byler, Tim Hamill, Steven Kennaugh, Arnold Kirsh, Mathew Sisinni, Lesley Rafuse, Thomas Rocco, Sal Signorelli, Norma Signorelli, Christy Stiles, Scott Waryold, Richard Gierbolini, Walter Long,  and three ex officio members, Carol Rocco, Marin Brosniak and the director of engineering services or his designee.

Mayoka said the purpose of this committee is to "assist returning Huntington veterans with housing and handicap accessibility issues, who were severely injured while serving their country. 

"Our first Huntington Hometown Hero that we will be helping is Marine Corps platoon commander Lt. James Byler, who sustained serious injuries while serving his country in Afghanistan," Mayoka said.
