Some Phone Service Knocked Out
Landlines affected, Suffolk Police say; Fire department, Town Hall lines are out.
Telephone lines were reported out of service Friday night in parts of Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor.
The cause of the outage and the extent was unknown but among the offices losing both the and were affected.
At 11 p.m., asked Patch to warn residents and advise that they check their cellphones for use in case of an emergency. Initial reports of outages came in about 9:15 p.m.
