Huntington Supervisor Frank P. Petrone Monday lifted the order declaring a snow emergency in the town.
Petrone's directive lifting the order was effective at 2 p.m.
"While we ask motorists to continue to use caution, the restrictions imposed by a snow emergency are no longer necessary,"Petrone said.
Petrone issued the original order effective 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Under a snow emergency, the supervisor has the power to close roads, appropriate necessary equipment from all sources and make necessary purchases without following the usual procedures.
