McKay Readies Run Against Naughton

Parks director schedules fundraiser.

Town Parks Director Don McKay has scheduled a fundraiser for Feb. 11 in his campaign to unseat highway superintendent Willliam J. Naughton, a fellow Democrat.

McKay, who was appointed to the parks job in 1995, formerly worked as a reporter and later as an aide to Steve Israel when he served on the Town Board. He also served as public information for the town before taking over the parks job. McKay is a 1983 graduate of Northport High School.

The term is for four years.

Tickets for the fundraiser at Jellyfish run from $150 to $1,000. The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Huntington Town Democratic Committee is inviting those interested in running for supervisor, town board or highway superintendent to notify the committee by Feb. 8.
