Libertarians: No 2011 Town Candidates

Party stops petition process for Huntington Town Board candidates after Peter Nichols withdraws from race.

The Suffolk County Libertarian Party has halted the petition process for candidates to the Huntington Town Board. 

"The petition drive has been stopped," said Suffolk County Libertarian Party member and former Chairman Mike Houze. "There will be no candidates for this election cycle."

On Monday, Republican Peter Nichols his name from contention for the Libertarian nomination because of developments he said occurred during the petitioning process. The decision left Republican Vivienne Wong as the only possible choice for the Party.

Houze said the Party will not run anyone this year.

Wong did not return a message left on her phone today.
