Woman Wanted in Credit Card Theft

Police say woman tried to buy $6,000 in Apple merchandise with stolen cards.

Suffolk County Police are seeking a woman who tried to use stolen credit cards at Walt Whitman Shops.

The two cards were taken April 12 from a woman's purse while she was at work in a Melville office, police said.

On April 16, someone tried to use the cards to buy $6,000 worth of items at the Apple store at the mall, police said.

  Surveillance video shows that the person who tried to use the cards is a heavy-set black female with blond hair. She was wearing black pants with a flowered shirt and a black jacket on top.

  Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
