UPDATE: Police Recapture Woman Who Escaped

Huntington Station woman fled police station.

Suffolk County police recaptured a woman Wednesday night who had escaped custody the night before.

Samantha Deutsch was in custody at the Second Precinct stationhouse in Huntington for disorderly conduct, vehicle and traffic warrants and for criminal impersonation about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night when she broke free from her handcuffs and fled out a side door.

Second Squad detectives found and arrested Deutsch of 5 Wallace Court, at the home of Thomas Carriero, of 69 East 8th St., Huntington Station, at approximately 6:25 p.m. Wednesday.

Deutsch was charged with second-degree escape. Carriero, 65, was arrested and charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Reginald Williams, 33, of 95 Jasmine Lane, East Northport, was arrested and charged with third-degree hindering prosecution.

Deutsch was being held overnight at the Fourth Precinct stationhouse; Carriero and Williams are being held at the Second Precinct. They are scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip Thursday.
