Teens Face Robbery, Hate Crime Charges

At least six suspects were arrested last week on charges of second-degree robbery and committing hate crimes in Huntington Station.

The suspects are high school students, including at least two football players, who range in age from 14 to 16.

Most of the charges refer to a crime on Dec. 1, but Suffolk County police have declined to provide specifics, saying the cases are still under investigation.

The suspects face multiple charges of robbery with injuries, classified as a B felony. The arrests occurred over three days.

One of the suspects is due in court Monday, while others are scheduled for Tuesday and still others in January.  Four of the cases are marked pending for possible transfer to juvenile court.
