A Suffolk County police officer was reported to have minor injuries after his vehicle was involved in an accident about 8 p.m. Tuesday night on Park Avenue.
The two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Sunset Drive created a minor spill that had to be cleaned up by fire fighters. A flat-bed truck and other equipment was on the scene to remove the vehicles.
Other traffic was diverted onto Crooked Hill Road and other side roads or turned back from the intersection for about an hour but the road was reopened by about 10 p.m.
