Police Ask For Help to Find Gary Melius Shooter

The owner of Oheka Castle in Huntington was shot in the head in February.

As Oheka Castle owner Gary Melius continues to recover from being shot in the head by a masked man at the Huntington castle in February, Suffolk police on Thursday released photos of a Jeep they say the shooter used the flee the scene. 

Melius was shot while walking to his car on Feb. 24 at about 12:30 p.m. The shooter fled the scene in an older model, light-colored four-door Jeep Grand Cherokee, police said. 

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
