A car split in half after striking a utility pole in Dix Hills early Wednesday morning, but the driver escaped serious injury, according to Suffolk Police.
A blue Kia hit the pole on Daly Avenue, near Larkfield Road, around 4 a.m, police said.
Daly Road was closed for several hours following the crash and a LIPA crew was on the scene to repair the pole, police said.
Police did not release the identity of the driver.
