Man Arrested After Foot Pursuit
Huntington Station man fled in van, on foot, police say.
A Huntington Station man was arrested early Friday morning after he fled officers, Suffolk County Police said.
Michael Detaldi, 48, of Huntington Station was driving a white Dodge construction van on East Jericho Turnpike shortly after midnight when police attempted to stop him, they said.
The van continued on with police in pursuit, and he was stopped on New York Avenue and Vermont Street. He then fled on foot, police said, and was caught in the area by Second Precinct officers, with the assistance of K-9 units.
Aviation units also responded.
Detaldi was charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer and reckless driving.
The investigation is continuing.
