Driver Slams Into Tree After Bee Sting

One-car accident near Walt Whitman Mall injures one.

After being stung by a bee, an unidentified male driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a tree today in Huntington Station.

While traveling south on New York Avenue behind Walt Whitman Mall, the driver of the sedan nearly side swiped a commuter bus before crashing into the tree, according to emergency responders at the scene.

The accident occurred at 8:52 a.m., according to a public information officer with the Suffolk County Police Department.

The driver was transported to Huntington Hospital with unknown injuries, according to police at the scene.
