Huntington Attorney Arrested

Police say Andrew Donner defrauded client out of thousands of dollars.

A Huntington attorney has been arrested after stealing approximately $40,000 from one of his clients.

Andrew Donner, of 45 Potter Lane, Huntington, was arrested Thursday and charged with third degree grand larceny and first degree scheme to defraud.

Working as an attorney out of his home, Donner, 55, conducted his scheme by taking funds from an escrow account between 2006 until August 2011, according to investigators.

Police say they suspect other customers of Donner's may have been defrauded. They are asking anyone who may have possibly lost funds to contact the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Economic Crimes Bureau at 631-853-5602.

Donner will be held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sept. 30, according to police.
