Good Samaritans Rescue Man Trapped Under Car

Huntington man hurt after car he was repairing near Heckscher Park falls on him.

Four good Samaritans lifted a car off a man who was trapped in Huntington Thursday,  said.

Jose Rios, 47, pulled over about 5:55 p.m. on Madison Street, next to , when he heard his muffler making noises.

Rios lifted his 1993 Toyota Corolla with a jack and went underneath the car to inspect the problem, police said. But the car fell on him and he was unable to free himself. Rios yelled for help and four good Samaritans responded, lifted the car off him, and pulled him to safety.

Two of the good Samaritans were identified as Charles Schulz, 30, Huntington Station, and John Greenlaw, 37, of Huntington.

Rios, also of Huntington, was taken to by with non-life threatening injuries.
