Fire Breaks Out at Huntington's Black and Blue Restaurant

There was yet another fire in Huntington Village on Saturday night, this one at Black and Blue Seafood Chophouse.

Police said they received a call of a blaze at the Wall Street restaurant at 9:45 p.m.

A photo posted on the Facebook page of X-Session, a Long Island cover band that was set to perform at the restaurant Saturday night, shows flames billowing from the roof of the building.

Firefighters from Smithtown, Halesite, Huntington, Huntington Manor, Cold Spring Harbor and Greenlawn battled the blaze, which started in the restaurant's kitchen ductwork and spread up through the roof, according to Steve Silverman, of the Town of Huntington's Fire Chief's Council.

Fifty firefighters used six trucks to quickly bring the blaze under control, Silverman said.

About 100 customers and employees safely evacuated the restaurant, with many of them leaving their dinners behind, Silverman said.

There were no reported injuries and Arson Squad detectives are investigating, police said.

The fire comes just days after a blaze ripped through a commercial building at 330 Main Street in the village. And in March a fast-moving fire devastated a row of businesses on New York Avenue.
