Smithtown

Joseph Green, 31, of Amityville was arrested Aug. 15 in Smithtown and charged with petty larceny. Reports state Green was arrested at the Centereach Mall for the alleged theft of video games. Reports indicate Green was arrested Aug. 13 at the Smithaven Mall for the alleged theft of items from JC Penny.    

Christopher Danielo, 21, of Lake Grove was arrested Aug. 10 in Smithtown and charged with third degree criminal mischief. Reports indicate Danielo was arrested for allegedly hitting a Chevy with a baseball bat at approximately 3:30 a.m.

Andrew Markos, 49, of Dix Hills was arrested Aug. 10 in Smithtown and charged with third degree larceny. Reports indicate Markos was arrested for allegedly holding an excavator in excess of an agreed 30 days.

Water Mill

Marc Castro, 27, of Dix Hills was arrested on Aug. 21 at 4:09 a.m. at the corner of Deerfield Road and Montauk Highway in Water Mill and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. Police said they stopped Castro for not using his blinker when they discovered that he had a container of Vicodin pills. Castro said he bought them for recreational use from a friend.

 

Northport

Virginio Ortiz, 22, of the Bronx, was arrested in Northport on Aug. 12 and charged with pettit larceny. 

Commack

A 7-Eleven convenience store in Commack was robbed by an armed man, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, a man entered the located at 6230 Jericho Turnpike at 4:51 a.m. on Aug.12.

Once inside the store, he displayed a revolver handgun and demanded cash from the cashier, police said. The cashier complied, handed the assailant an unspecified amount of cash, and the thief fled.

No injuries were reported. No arrest has been made in connection to the incident.

This marks the third robbery in the area this year. The just a few doors down from the 7-Eleven was robbed on and . Two different men were charged with those robberies.
