Rich, this incident should be very seriously followed. Obviously what is essentially a drive by shooting at this location should be the beginning of a serious look at the security in the village. If the village were to be perceived as unsafe it could lead to devastating economic troubles for Huntington. This is a big story. This needs to be followed up on with town officials on a regular basis until action is taken to secure the area. Money is being wasted to too many other areas. We need more patrols and security cameras. We are already seeing more graffiti and propert damage and now a shooting. Please continue to bring the issue of crime and security to the forefront. Thank you.

Also the very next day police were called back to the street reporting 50-100 people and 9 patrol cars. Just driving down ny Ave. Is proving to be challenging. Rich...I already verified the police blotter on this. See the parents of huntington facebook page for a few others that are also not being reported

Huntington Village has been unsafe for years. The town board sweeps everything under the rug because they want the village to be thought of as a quiet, family, hamlet. It stopped being that a long time ago. For seven years Frank Patrone and the town board looked the other way while Pancho Villa's Cino de Mayo celebrations became more and more out of control. If it weren't for the fact that a police officer was punched in the face and a man was stabbed in the back during last years festivities I am sure the owners of the restaurant would have been issued a permit yet again this year. I want to see Frank Petrone walking Wall Street at 1am when the overflow from the bars poors out onto the street. Let him get a good look at people who are so drunk that they doen't seem to care if they are urinating or defecating on the sidewalk or on the property of those who have the misfortune of living in the village. Let him get a taste of the bar town he has created. I sincerely hope the residents of Huntington wake up and vote Frank Petrone out of office when the time comes
