Clubhouse Restaurant Exterior Damaged After Crash; 2 Injured

Restaurant owner estimates $5,000 in damage from Jericho Turnpike accident.

On one of the busiest restaurant days of the year, two vehicles crashed early Tuesday causing damage to The Clubhouse, located at 325 W. Jericho Turnpike in Huntington.

According to owner Jeffrey Bies, a mid-sized sedan and an SUV collided at the intersection of Jones Lane and Jericho Turnpike at about 7 a.m. forcing one vehicle into restaurant landscaping and the other into a front sign.

Beis estimates property damage to be at least $5,000 to electrical and lighting equipment, a sprinkler system and possibly a flagpole. He said the accident did not affect business because the eatery was closed at the time of the incident.
