Another Shooting in Huntington Station

A man was walking along Broadway when he was shot in the neck Wednesday night.

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating the shooting of a Huntington Station man.

Shaka Butler, 21, of 283 Broadway, Huntington Station, was walking along Broadway at 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17. He stated that two men approached him and shot him in the neck. Butler was taken to Huntington Hospital via ambulance by Huntington Community Rescue Squad personnel where he was admitted in stable condition.

Detectives ask that anyone who may have witnessed this shooting call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252. All calls will be kept confidential. The investigation is continuing.

The latest shooting comes in the wake of another that took place last Thursday within blocks of Jack Abrams Intermediate School at approximately 2 p.m. while students were in school, leading school board members to consider taking students out of the school and placing them at another while instituting split sessions to make room.
