Highway Robbery?

Councilmen Gene Cook and Mark Mayoka may have just missed a chance to put the issue of term limits before the voters this November.

Have residents of Huntington just been robbed of a chance to have all elected officials term limited, regardless of their policy making capabilities? During the recent controversy over the status of the  highway superintendent's elected position, both councilman Eugene Cook and Mark  Mayoka seemed to have missed their chance to roll Supervisor Frank Petrone and company over a barrel when they failed to trade the highway referendum for term limits.  The superintendent's position would most likely have remained an elected one while the voters would have at least have had the chance to vote on term limits for ALL elected officials. Even if a deal has been just worked out, both councilmen made the issue of term limits a major part of their election campaigns and should continue to try to put this issue before the voters. If they fail to get term limits on the ballot this November, I can guarantee the next board candidate will make it an issue in 2013.

Usually cats stay within a few houses of home Sometimes they just hunker down under a neighbor'sRead More shed or deck. He is more likely to come to you at night when there aren't as many lawn mower sounds. Walk around with a can of the stinkiest cat food that you can find. Call to him, and listen for a response. He may answer you with soft meows. Make a trail of stinky cat food to your door and leave the can at the door overnight. Hang up signs with a photo in the neighborhood. Go door to door and tell neighbors to call you if they see him. Kids playing, and dog walkers might spot him. Once you have an idea, of where he is, you can use a have a heart trap to catch him, if he won't come to you. Some cats get so scared when they get out, that they don't recognize their humans. We have had cats disappear for months, before trapping them.
