Anne Y. Shields Joins the Law Offices of Mark A. Cuthbertson

Anne Y. Shields, a Huntington resident, has joined the Law Offices of Mark A. Cuthbertson as counsel to the firm.  

Her addition will enhance and enlarge the firm’s commercial and federal litigation practice.  She will represent clients in state and federal court at both trial and appellate level in connection with litigation matters.  Ms. Shields has extensive experience in matters of federal litigation. 

Prior to joining the Law Offices of Mark A. Cuthbertson, she served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable George C. Pratt, United States Circuit Judge for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and for several years as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Leonard D. Wexler, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of New York. Ms. Shields was also in private practice at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom. 

At Skadden, her practice included representing clients in a broad range of federal and state litigation, including securities litigation, product liability and advertising litigation and compliance matters.  She represented clients in federal and state courts, before the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, and in advertising substantiation challenges before major television networks and governmental regulatory authorities.

Ms. Shields was a member and President of the Board of Directors of Courtyard Kids, Inc., a child care center built and managed by the United States General Services Administration in Central Islip, New York.  Ms. Shields currently serves as an officer and member of the Board of Directors of Brooklyn Defenders Services.

Ms. Shields is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
