Funeral Set For Girl Killed in Boating Accident

Services for Harlie Treanor, 11, of Huntington Station planned for Monday.

What was supposed to be a fun evening of watching fireworks on Oyster Bay ended in tragedy for one Huntington Station family late Wednesday when the boat they were in capsized.

Harlie Treanor, 11, was one of at the mouth of Oyster Bay, reportedly from a combination of waves kicked up by a sudden squall and the wake from other boaters. 

Funeral services have been announced for Treanor. Born in Mineola, Treanor turned 11 on June 10.

Visitation is scheduled Sunday and Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at , located at 934 New York Ave. in Huntington Station.

Funeral services are planned for July 10 at 9:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home.

Another of the boating victims, Victoria Gaines, would have started third grade in the fall at Washington school.
