The spirit and excitement of the Walt Whitman High School Homecoming celebration began with the South Huntington School District’s first community parade down Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station on Saturday, October 5.  The participants then marched through the local neighborhood, where residents lined the streets in a show of support, and continued on the field as the Wildcats defeated Copiague High School, 34-8.  Suffolk Legislator Lou D’Amaro was honored to accept an invitation by South Huntington School District Superintendent Dr. David Bennardo to join other community leaders in the parade.

“It was a privilege to help kickoff Walt Whitman High School’s 2013 Homecoming Day,” said Legislator D’Amaro.  “The spirit and enthusiasm from the students and community was evident throughout the festivities.  Go Wildcats!”
