The Ladies Auxiliary of the Halesite Fire Department held their annual Winter Blood Drive last Friday, January 10th, and had the best results since 2007.
A total of 60 pints were collected this January, to much appreciation by the Long Island Blood Service. This year, Halesite's blood drive was pushed back one week due to inclement weather, which probably contributed to the above-average response.
Halesite's Ladies Auxiliary holds two blood drives in Halesite each year - one in January and another in August. These are two of many community-oriented activities the Ladies Auxiliary do each year.
