South Huntington Library Budget Review at Friends Meeting
The Friends of the Library group at South Huntington Public Library will hear a budget presentation from Joseph Latini, director, at its 7 p.m. meeting on Wednesday, March 30.
Latini will give a presentation on the proposed 2011-12 budget following a business meeting to discuss upcoming events.
In South Huntington, voters will be asked to approve a $5.6 million budget that calls for a 2.7% increase, with a 42 cent tax rate increase per $100 of assessed valuation. The library tax for the average homeowner with property assessed at $3,300 is estimated at $410, an increase of $13.78 over 2010.

In addition, two candidates are running for one five-year term on the South Huntington library board of trustees.
The South Huntington Public Library budget vote and trustee election will be held on Tuesday, April 5, from 3-10 p.m. in the library's meeting room on the lower level.
