South Huntington Public Library Budget, Trustees Vote

A candidate will be elected to a five-year term on the board of trustees at the South Huntington Public Libraries, and voters also will decide on the proposed 2011-12 budget in voting from 3 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5.

In South Huntington, two candidates are running for one five-year term on the board of trustees. Incumbent Stuart Horowitz has been on the library board since 2000. Seeking election for the first time is  Steve Haddock.

The library's proposed 2011-12 budget of $5.6 million calls for a 2.7% tax increase. It is up for a vote from 3-10 p.m. in the library's meeting room on the lower level.
