The Town of Huntington Animal Shelter is a strong supporter of the health and welfare of the animals who pass through their door. The dogs are all behavior assessed and go home with their spay/neuter, rabies shot and New York State license. For this special weekend ONLY, the adoption fee will be waived. (There will be a fee of $8.50 for the New York State license.)

The Town also houses a limited number of cats. The cats will also go home with their spay/neuter and rabies shot. As with the dogs, the adoption fee will be waived ONLY for this weekend.

The Grateful Paw Cat Shelter, which is operated in total by the volunteers of the League for Animal Protection of Huntington, has an average of 75 or more cats and kittens at any given time. Grateful Paw pulls exclusively from the Town of Huntington Animal Shelter and has served the Huntington community for over 35 years. All cats/kittens are spayed/neutered, fully vet checked and given all their age-appropriate shots. The League for Animal Protection of Huntington will be reducing its adoption fee for adult cats.

In addition to the stars of this event, our dogs and cats, there will be pet product vendors, entertainment, demonstrations, face painting, raffles and much more! The Suffolk County SPCA will be present on Sunday to provide a low-cost rabies clinic for your pet cat or dog. All pets visiting this event must be properly contained. (Cats coming for a rabies shot must be in a secure carrier and dogs must be on leash at all times.)
