One Year After Sandy: What Have We Learned and What Can We Do?

Hurricane Sandy's devastating effects were like nothing that Long Islanders (and others in the Tri-State area) had ever experienced. Yes there was Hurricane Gloria and yes there was Hurricane Irene, but Hurricane Sandy--Superstorm Sandy--was orders of magnitude above these two storms and the devastation it left in its wake was something we in the effected area were not prepared for. People lost power for days, some weeks & some even months, and then there were those with no power to come home to at all as their home was completely devastated. The effects of the storm still linger, but what of the lessons learned of it?

Join us as we take on this very issue with our special guest, members of the group Long Island Tactical Preppers who have made it their goal to be ready for when the next disaster comes. The presentation they will be giving will be information packed and it will focus on multiple aspects of what it means to survive a coming situation.
'"Preppers" you say? Those loons who are preparing for the end of the world, The End of Days?? I don't have time for that' you may say, but this isn't what 'Prepping' is actually about. On this night you're going to find out what it's actually about as the members of this group present to you not just what prepping is but also what it isn't. It's not for the guy living in the abandoned missile silo or 'that crazy dude' on Doomsday Preppers who has enough stored food water and ammo to survive though ten apocalypses. It's about surviving through the night, the week or the month until help (in whatever form it may be in) arrives...and it isn't as hard or as expensive to do as you may think.

Come down as we tackle this important subject, one that can help you when the next storm arrives or the next time the lights simply go out for the night, or when, God Forbid, something even worse happens.

Vote the bums out then come on down! Late dinner and conversation afterwards at the Golden Coach diner as always :)go out and Vote Out the Bums then come on down and find out how to get prepared!
