Huntington Chamber’s “Meet The Media” Networking Breakfast

Start the New Year off right by joining Long Island 's effective business professionals at one of the most dynamic and influential networking and media programs of the year.  The  Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce’s annual “Meet the Media” Networking Breakfast is a premier business breakfast event which will take place on Tuesday, January 29 from 7:30 - 10 a.m. (Networking from 7:30-8:30 a.m.; Program begins at 8:30 a.m.) at the Hilton Long Island/Huntington, located at 598 Broad Hollow Road in Melville. In addition to pre-event networking and relationship building, the specialized media program will provide an abundance of vital and essential media and business information.


 


The media panel will consist of a strategic and distinguished group of journalists, reporters, correspondents and representatives from New York and Long Island’s most influential media outlets who will discuss a wide range of newsworthy topics and provide an abundance of useful tips for those in attendance.  Topics will include: * most important stories of 2012, *vital yet under-reported news during 2012, *unusual stories we may have missed, *the importance of social media on news reporting and *the most effective social media platforms for reporters.

What makes a great media story?  Learn how to conduct a good media interview and how to “pitch” your story to the media.   Social media can have a great impact on news, communication, and your business.   Media can also have a positive impact your business, it can influence current affairs, the economy and current political environment.

A question and answer session will follow the discussion of these topics, providing even greater in-depth interaction between the panel and the audience.
