LIRR Warns of Rush-Hour Delays
Amtrak derailment blamed for morning delays, cancellations.
The is warning of rush-hour delays Monday morning because of an Amtrak train derailment in one of the East River tunnels.
"Some trains will be canceled and others will be diverted to other terminals," the railroad said. A total of 20 trains will either be canceled or diverted to other terminals.
The LIRR is asking customers to check for service before arriving at train stations, by monitoring the MTA website, listening to the latest news broadcasts and traffic reports and/or signing up for the MTA's free alerts.
