LIRR: Don't Wait For Last Trains

LIRR announces last trains in and out of Huntington on Saturday.

The Long Island Railroad is urgung customers not to wait for the last trains when making travel plans.

In advance of Irene making landfall, the following will be the last trains to operate on the Huntington Branch of the LIRR Saturday:

  • Eastbound: The 12:23 p.m. train from Penn Station, due Huntington at 1:26 p.m.
  • Westbound: The 1 p.m. train from Huntington, due Penn Station at 2:09 p.m.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Friday that the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) will institute a system-wide shutdown with trains and buses beginning their final runs starting around noon on Saturday.

The shutdown will include the LIRR, along with subways, buses, Metro-North Railroad and Access-A-Ride.
