Lupinacci Honors Dr. Maureen Theresa Murphy as a Woman of Distinction

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-Huntington Station) recently presented Dr. Maureen Theresa Murphy with an Assembly Proclamation honoring her as a Woman of Distinction. Dr. Murphy, who was honored alongside 10 other women at the ceremony in May, was unable to attend the event because she was overseas with the Lions Club International doing humanitarian work.

“Dr. Murphy is a tremendous humanitarian who has dedicated her life to the betterment of others. After beginning her career as an anesthesiologist, serving in the U.S. Air Force, she has continued her service to others through her work with the Melville Lions Club, Habitat for Humanity and the Guide Dog Foundation of Smithtown,” said Lupinacci. “The generosity of Dr. Murphy and her husband led to the creation of the Brandel-Murphy Youth Foundation, which helps continue their efforts to provide assistance to children throughout New York and Bermuda. Dr. Murphy’s energy, vision, dedication and spirit provide the exemplary attitude that we all should strive to meet each day.”
