Waldbaum's Store Fades Away

Workers remove last signs of grocery store on East Jericho.

Workers removed signs of the Waldbaum's store on East Jericho Turnpike Tuesday, two days after the 40-year-old store closed for good.

The Turnpike Plaza propert is owned by Kimco Realty, which said last week it expected to soon complete a lease to take over the space. Kimco's website shows the center as fully leased, and while it has said it expected a grocery store to take the space, it hasn't said yet who the new tenant will be.

Yes, we apologize, Judie, it appears there was a hiccup in the delivery process.
