Wine Tasting: South America

2008 William Fevre “Chacai” Cabernet/Carmenere, Maipo, Chile
Winemaker’s Notes: Deep ruby colour with tinges of violet. On the nose there are elegant notes of cassis, dark fruits, tobacco, a hint of smokiness and a floral note. In the mouth the wine has notable structure, big shoulders with heaps of concentration. The fruit is dark and brooding with a round attack firm mid-palate of blueberries and cherries with a long firm silky finish with texture.

2008 Bodega Pizzorno “Don Prospero” Tannat, Uruguay
This wine captures the enigma that is Uruguayan Tannat. The nose is ripe, the color bold and purple. Lush, with earthy aromas, rich and full bodied, flavours of black fruits that linger long on the palate

2010 Grandes Vinos Argentinos “Emir” Torrentes Classico
Enticing aromas of peach, flowers, and orange citrus fruit. On the palate, it has a beautiful structure and body for a wine that shows such delicate aromas and flavors. Fruity and floral components come together with beautiful balance. Dry, crisp and clean on the finish.
