Authorities Close Strawberry's, Charge Two Employees

Two arrested for selling alcohol to a minor during state liquor authority inspection.

Police charged two employees of Strawberry's Bar Bakery and Grill after a state liquor authority inspection before fire marshals closed the Huntington establishment Saturday for code violations, according to police.

Anthony Bellospirito, 31, of Westbury, and Christie Munch, 20, of West Islip, both employees of Strawberry’s, were charged with 1st degree unlawfully dealing with a child for selling alcohol to a minor, according to police.

With assistance from an underage volunteer police agent, Suffolk County crime section officers and the Huntington town fire marshall conducted the inspection at the popular nightclub, located at 279 Main St.

According to a police statement, the Huntington Town Fire Marshall issued summonses for two New York state fire code violations and closed the establishment for being unsafe.

The pair is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on July 11.
